I had an OB appointment yesterday. I ended up going out to dinner straight from the doctor's office with my mom and sister, thus the delay in the posting. I'm 38.5 weeks. I'm at 3 cm, 60% effaced. So all these nights where I'm waking up with contractions for 2-3 hours are actually doing things. That's good because I was so upset last appointment that nothing had changed.
Also, I lost two pounds (and my appt was at 4:30 p.m. instead of 9:30 a.m. so I was swollen and retaining water like you wouldn't believe). I saw my regular OB instead of Dr. H. She didn't even bat an eye. Last week, Dr. H gave me a lecture about my weight (I had gained 4#s in a week).
We also talked about what would happen if I went past my due date. I'm torn about this. My OB said normally she wouldn't induce until 1 week after the due date, however, if I want, because I'm 3 cm now, she'd be willing to induce me the day after my due date but would rather wait until the Wed after. So, for now I don't have to decide. But it was interesting to even discuss it. We both had a good laugh that the thought was even occurring to us. I'm not sure how I feel about induction right now. But I have 9 more days to see what Miss Thing decides to do on her own! We'll see.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe She Biscuit is staying put! I keep checking this blog thinking for sure she's popped out by now! Just know that you're in my prayers and that she'll come when the time is right -- and what a blessing to possibly even have an overcooked baby! She will be just perfect when she decides to introduce herself.
